DermaTrack (by Embleema) is a focused Apple Watch + iPhone app that objectively records nighttime wrist-scratching and visualizes trends to help patients and clinicians monitor itch/sleep disturbance, with apparent privacy-first intent and seamless HealthKit integration but limited features and a small user base.

DermaTrack offers a method to quantify nocturnal scratching by using an Apple Watch. Built on HealthKit, the app records scratching motions each night and presents a summary of the results every morning. Used consistently, it can support monitoring of skin conditions and may inform discussions with your physician.

Usability and workflow: when you are ready for bed, wear the Apple Watch and start DermaTrack according to the on-screen instructions. In the morning, open DermaTrack on the Apple Watch and stop the measurement as directed. Within minutes, you can view the scratching metrics on your iPhone.

With an Apple Watch (Series 2 or later) you can:

Track scratching patterns during sleep
Determine the percentage of sleep disturbed by scratching activity
Visualize changes in symptoms by tracking activity over time and share the results with your doctor for insights
